Mount Olive Lutheran Church uses a policy-based governance model. The purpose of the Governing Board, on behalf of the membership, is to see to it that Mount Olive Lutheran Church fulfills its vision and mission while avoiding unacceptable actions and situations.
The Governing Board will govern lawfully with an emphasis on (a) outward vision rather than an internal preoccupation, (b) encouragement of diversity in viewpoints, (c) strategic leadership more than administrative detail, (d) clear distinction of Governing Board and Senior Pastor roles, (e) collective rather than individual decisions, (f) future rather than past or present, and (g) being proactive.
The Governing Board is made up of members of the congregation who have been elected by the congregation or appointed by the Governing Board to replace a board member who has resigned. Current members of Mount Olive’s Governing Board are shown on the right-hand side of this page.
